The Student Health Service has info on this here: https://shs.wfu.edu/2022/09/respiratory-illness-resources/

The one note I would make is that if there is a lot of illness in the W-S community, your student may also run into delays with off-campus providers (I can't tell you the number of times I have been sick and trying to get in to my primary care physician, and if they are jammed with a ton of flu in town, etc., I have had to wait a day or two to get in).

So my advice would be try to go through Student Health if you can - in addition to treating the preventing issue, they are very comprehensive in sussing out additional things that might be going on (academic stress, not sleeping enough, etc.) and helping connect students to campus resources. It is also helpful to be able to have proof of an SHS visit to show faculty if they need to be out of class as they recuperate. That said, if a student needs urgent care, we want them to seek those resources.

Hope that helps,
