NAME, thank you for that very understandable question. I checked with my colleagues in Deacon Health, and this is what is on their website:

"To respect our students/patients and the confidentiality of their medical records, Deacon Health is not able to accept or rely on a “blanket” release or authorization form, including a power of attorney or similar document. Please do not upload such documents to the portal."

My interpretation of the above is that in the event of something terrible (heaven forbid) that would require a medical POA, the student would not be coming to Deacon Health, they would be going to a hospital. So it might be more effective for your Deac to have a scan of any such documents on their phone, and you keep a copy too. (Again, heaven forbid and I hope it would never need to be used).

All best,
Betsy
